£20 million small business grants

Thousands of smaller businesses are set to benefit from £20m of new government funding to help them recover from the coronavirus pandemic. The grants will be between £1,000 and £5,000 to help them access new technology, other equipment, legal, financial, and other professional advice.

The support will be fully funded by the government with no obligation on the business to contribute financially. The funding has been allocated to Growth Hubs within each LEP ( local enterprise partnership ) area, and activities that are supported through the £20m grant include one to one events providing guidance to respond to coronavirus, and grants ( £1,000 to £5,000 ) to help businesses access specialist professional advice such as accountants, HR, legal, financial, IT and digital.
